Not everyone grows up with the sea in his backyard. Sliding through the salty waters next to his parents’ residence in Zeeland, the Rotterdam based Oceanic found what he’d like the most: trancey percussion over floating ungraspable rhythms. By holding a monthly residency at Amsterdam club De School, he developed a knack for tracing lines between unpredictable genres whilst never taking his eye off the dance floor; making him one of the most exciting DJ talents of The Netherlands. Several thrilling productions settled on his brother’s label Nous’klaer Audio, remixes on Versatile and Yeyeh, with many more to come. The latest project entails a tripping ambient live set, which debuted at the World Minimal Music Festival at Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in Amsterdam. In 2017 he was also part of ArcHertz residency in Assisi, Italy, to create a site-specific sound piece for a large crater; Mortaro-Grande.
