Ábris Gryllus is a Budapest based cross disciplinary media artist and musician. In his music and installations he moves on the boarder of known and uncharted soundscapes, opening space for associations and different time sensations.
Born in 1985, he studied Visual Communication at the Moholy-Nagy University of Arts and
Design, Budapest, where he started teaching conceptual design and sound in 2015. He is part of the noise formation FOR. His works were presented, inter alia, at the 2013 Berlin Gallery Weekend, the 2013 Vienna Design Week, the 2014 Soundscapes Festival, the 2015 Venice Biennale, the 2015 Off Biennale Budapest, the 2016, 2017, 2018 Berlin Montag Modus, the 2017 NEXT Fest Budapest, the 2017 UH Fest Budapest , the 2018 Transmediale / CTM Berlin, and the 2020 Tanzplatform Munich.
Although he has put out a number of albums and tracks in the past ten years on several labels, Ábris Gryllus released his first album under his real name in 2017 (Post_, Farbwechsel Records), marking a new direction where his highly conceptual compositions focus in on experimental electronics. His most recent release A.D. is a continuation of this musical process, language development and exploration.
