Pianist Ritvars Garoza is known for his original music and arrangements. His
activities include big bands and string chamber orchestras, as well as electronic and
jazz music. Ritvars is better known to the wider public as a composer and keyboardist
in the group “Lupa”, which in 2023 received the Golden Microphone award in the
“Best Jazz Album” category for the studio album “Koki”. Apart from jazz and
original music, he participates in various experimental projects, the most well-known
of which is the “Woodpecker Project”.
Ritvars Garoza joined SHAPE+ in April 2023 as part of Zbigniew Chojnacki‘s residency in Riga.
